BABY FAQ

What size do newborn baby clothes start at?

It depends on the brand. A Fixoni bodysuit-and-dress set starts at 0-1M, then 1-3M and 3M. Mayoral newborn outfits start at 2-4M and continue through 4-6M, 6-9M, 12M and 18M, and Petit Lem swim rompers start at 0-3M. If the baby has not arrived yet, a slightly larger size often gets more wear, since newborns grow quickly.

What baby clothes make a good shower or layette gift?

Coordinated sets are easy to give. Mayoral newborn three-piece knit sets pair a sweater, footed pants and a knit hat, listed as 100% cotton, in 2-4M to 18M. Deux par Deux sherpa slippers, with a cotton lining and elastic ankles, come in 0/6m to 18/24m. For a dressier gift, Mayoral also makes newborn dresses with a cardigan layer.

Which baby clothes work for either a boy or a girl?

Look for styles listed for both. Some Angel Dear two-way zipper footies are listed for baby boys and baby girls, in 95% viscose from bamboo and 5% spandex. Deux par Deux files a neutral Baby Cloud snowsuit shade under both boy and girl snowsuits, and the Noppies ribbed romper comes in shades for each. Soft neutrals and animal or weather prints are an easy choice before you know.

How do baby shoe sizes work for pre-walkers and first steps?

Brands use different scales. Mayoral pre-walking sneakers run US 1 to 4 (EU 16 to 19) and close with two hook-and-loop straps. Geox baby shoes for new walkers run EU 21 to 25 (US 5.5 to 8.5), with a 95% leather upper and a leather lining and insole. Trace your baby's foot and compare it with the brand chart. More pairs are in kids footwear.

How do I find baby clothes by gender or category?

This collection gathers clothes for baby girls and boys from newborn to 36 months in one place. To narrow it down, shop baby girl clothes or baby boy clothes. For winter, start with baby girl snowsuits or the baby boy snowsuits page.
